Altia Corporation

Strøm and Bibendum join forces

In order to strengthen the organization and create synergies, Altia Norway has decided to merge the management and marketing organisation for Strøm and Bibendum as of April 1st, 2009.

By bringing Strøm and Bibendum closer together, Altia has strengthened its position as one of the largest and most powerful importers of wine in Norway, with strong and well known suppliers within almost all significant geographical areas. At the same time, the combined forces of Strøm and Bibendum will be one of the most exiting marketing environments for wine in Norway.

-Through a more complete wine portfolio, as well as joint synergies of both companies, we know we are well prepared to secure innovative solutions and growth to our customers and suppliers. This is the latest step to secure that Altia Norway is organized for future growth together with our partners. In order to be streamlined and more cost effective as the market is changing due to the financial crisis, we are certain these changes will improve the performance of our mutual business, says Svein Harald Røine, the Senior Vice President in Altia Norway.

- We have over the last year had several strategic projects in the Nordics and Baltics in order to obtain synergy effects, growth and innovation. The last step in this work is for Strøm and Bibendum to join forces by having the same management team and marketing organisation. By having one organisation to be responsible for the two companies, we will be able to build a much stronger competence environment in brand management.

The two companies will be better shaped in order to create profitable growth for both our partners as well as Altia Svein Harald Røine continues The two companies market and sell well known brands such as Ruffino, Henkell, Banrock Station, Pasqua, Roederer Champagne, Dom. F. Lurton, Michel Chapoutier, Jean-Pierre Moueix, Maison Louis Jadot etc.

Altia works continually to strengthen the position as the preferred partner in Wine and Spirits in the Nordics and Baltics. As the only corporation with strong position in the whole region, Altia was chosen by the Codorniu Group as their partner in the Nordics and Baltics. More streamlined and efficient organization - In order for our suppliers and customers to feel that Altia is more coordinated, stronger and more efficient, it is important to have a streamlined and efficient organisation which will build the fundament for profitable growth as well as it will deliver on the demands from our owners, suppliers, customers and the consumers, Røine concludes.
